Add picking faces without new building space." lang: en --- Image: Steel warehouse mezzanine inside an industrial facility (https://chicagomezzanines.com/assets/hero-location-DXiKWbzD.jpg) University Park, Illinois # Warehouse Mezzanines in University Park, IL We install warehouse mezzanines in University Park for large distribution centers that need more pick faces for each-pick and pack-out work. A pick-and-pack mezzanine doubles the shelving area over the same floor, with conveyor runs tying both levels to packing. Warehouse mezzanine systems for this work are designed around order profiles, not just square feet. Buildings along I-57 offer the height for multi-level picking. The challenge is keeping flow simple as volumes rise. Fast movers often stay on the ground, while slower each-picks go upstairs. Conveyor drop points, tote returns and pick paths set the deck shape. Peak seasons bring temporary staff. Wide stairs, clear signage and pallet gates at replenishment points help new pickers work safely from the first shift. - Slot by order velocity - Plan conveyor and tote paths - Gates at replenishment points ## Mezzanine pick faces in University Park buildings Adding a level is often faster than leasing more space. A deck spreads shelving across two floors while packing stays in one place. The deck is rated for loaded shelving and pickers together, and decking choices handle cart traffic. Lighting under the deck is planned so the lower aisles stay bright. - Two levels of shelving - Packing kept in one zone - Lower aisles kept bright Image: Multi-level steel mezzanine inside an industrial warehouse (https://chicagomezzanines.com/assets/mezzanines-YVvKCAut.jpg) ## Quote, delivery and installation of steel mezzanines The proposal separates structure, decking, stairs, gates, railings and installation. If conveyor or shelving comes from another vendor, we coordinate the interfaces in the drawings. Experienced installation crews we schedule and manage handle the work. Winter weather can slow steel deliveries, so we build a receiving plan with your team early. If the deck may move to another building, consider a free-standing mezzanine (https://chicagomezzanines.com/mezzanines/free-standing-mezzanine); for options across uses, browse our warehouse mezzanines (https://chicagomezzanines.com/mezzanines) or visit the Chicago Mezzanines home page.
